A
friend of mine, Brad, whom I've
not seen in many years, once
told me a cute story about Steve
McQueen. When Steve was filming
"Junior Bonner", they shot some
of the scenes on his family's
property in Colorado. He
was just a young child at
the time but remembers it well.
It made quite an impression on
him. He remembered playing with
Steve and running in and out
and around his legs. Everyone in
his family was thrilled to have
the film crew there and to be
able to meet and spend time with
Steve McQueen. He was
kind to everyone there and has been
a family favorite to this day.
It
doesn't surprise me that Steve
McQueen seemed to have had
a positive effect on those who
were lucky enough to meet him.
And, for me, it's nice because
every time I watch Junior Bonner
or even hear the name of the
film, I think of my old pal as a
little kid,
running and playing with great
Steve McQueen. It makes me smile
every time. |
